Following New Skinners Close eastward you will end up in Tweedale (or Tweeddale) Court. I’ve always liked this building hidden off the High St, and was determined that my sketch would include the old winching equipment that has been preserved as a feature in the window on the left. Apparently this dates from its 19th century use as a printers workshop, and it still has the name of that company, Oliver & Boyd on the porch; although the building’s origins are 16/17th century.
