For this sketch I was struck by the contrast of the statue against the atlantes on the building behind. (In fact I have only just now learned ‘atlantes’ is the correct term for a male ‘caryatid’, i.e., a column sculpted in the form of a human). Note the ubiquitous seagull on the statue’s head! The statue is of Pitt the Younger.
