Another view from behind (and below) & of the statue of Sir James Young Simpson, from the steps at the west end of Princes St Gardens. I looked up a little about him: an important contributor to medicine, in particular obstetrics. And worked out that chloroform could be used as an anaesthetic by experimenting on himself.
