This suitably imposing building on the corner of George St and Hanover St is the home of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. I completed this sketch just over a week ago, sitting on the opposite corner, while the late afternoon sunlight came and went. Apparently the statue on top of the dome represents ‘Prudence’.
